NABJJF Los Angeles Open 2017

Congratulations to Westside Training Center competitors Rich Calderon and Alexis Rubalcava who medaled at the 2017 NABJJF Los Angeles Open!  They both spent a lot of time and effort preparing for their first tournament.  Thanks also to all the students who came to support their teammates, who helped their teammates prepare for the tournament, and those who coached along the way.  The strength of the pack is in the wolf, the strength of the wolf is in the pack.

Rubens Charles Maciel “Cobrinha” Wins Gold at Worlds 2017

Cobrinha Westside is proud to be affiliated with Cobrinha BJJ, and Rubens Charles Maciel “Cobrinha” has capped off an amazing year as he accomplished the Grand Slam in Jiu Jitsu by winning the European, Pan American, Brazilian National, and World Championships.  He is the first in his weight class to accomplish this, and at 37, Cobrinha continues to train, teach, and compete at the highest level.

6-Week Challenge Graduation

We had another successful 6-Week Challenge with a great group of students! Everyone to a student had a great attitude, learned a lot, lost fat weight & gained muscle!

MORE BJJ AT WTC! We have added three new morning classes for those of you who want to get your training in before work!  Recent Pan American double gold medalist, Brian C. will be teaching 6:00 - 7:00am Monday/Wednesday/Friday.

Professional Boxer, MMA fighter, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor, and instructor Kaiyana Rain will be teaching Thai Kickboxing at Westside Training Center Tuesday/Thursday/Saturdays.  Come train with Rain!

If you would like to improve your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu game, you should drill as much as possible.  The best in the world do it, and you should do.

Isaac Doederlein in Gracie Mag

Isaac is after the grand slam in the brown belt featherweight division and he’s close to get it. He’s been dominating in 2015 with gold medals at the European, Pan and Brazilian Nationals. Now he’s after the fourth gold medal in Long Beach to probably close his cycle in the brown belt division. A devoted student of four-time world champion Rubens Cobrinha in Los Angeles, Doederlein has all the tools to make it big on the next level.
